!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! helped me with this...ok, not really, because if she actually helped me with the actual drawing of it it 1.) probably wouldn’t look like such crap manifested in graphite form and 2.) she’d probably actually finish it. But she did bring the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! to my attention, and my effort was supposed to merge the fourjoy with the fourtwo to create a Smart car that I thought Oppositelock would actually find desirable. It’s supposed to be rear-engine/RWD like the actual car, with hybrid and pure electric versions, and it’s supposed to be semi-grilleless, with a very faint suggestion of a grille as a sort of compromise towards Torch’s preferred aesthetic and to suggest the future I guess? I dunno lol I’m drunk.
Yeah I really suck at this especially when I’m drunk.
Update: Ok I want to add some context so that people don’t think I’m just making this because “lol I’m drunk.” I think the Smartcar has more going for it than what’s typically kind of bandied about on Oppo, especially given that it is after all a rear-engine, RWD car that promises great economy and practicality. I just think it’s being held back not only by its looks, which can come off as either agonizingly bland or just awkward depending on who you are, and by that utility being limited by space utilization that’s admittedly not optimized. It’s been something I’ve been wanting to do for a while - a four-seat Smartcar that has legitimate appeal, at least mainstream appeal if not aspirational appeal. I think the microcar market is important, and moreover to make that market viable I think microcars legitimately need to be aspirational.
So, yeah, this. It’s not that I’m too drunk to draw it’s just that I can’t draw so I might as well draw drunk.
